Open Lines Counseling, a Baltimore-based private practice, is looking to hire a relationship/couples therapist.

We are LGBTQIA+ affirming practice that specializes in working with individuals and couples/non-monogamous folks looking to address anxiety and OCD, perinatal mental health, ethical non-monogamy/polyamory, and body liberation concerns.

Are You a Good Fit?

This job is for you if you: 

  • Have a passion for providing and learning about relationship therapy. 

  • Utilize and/or are willing to be trained in evidence-based approaches for relationship therapy (such as The Gottman Method and/or EFT).

  • Have an interest in working with individuals seeking help in some of the practice’s other specialty areas (e.g., perinatal mental health, OCD, LGBTQIA+ concerns). 

  • Have other skills you want to indulge. You want to be part of a small, growing practice where you can use your unique skills (e.g., writing, social media promotion, running groups, giving presentations, etc.) to enhance the mission of the practice and be part of its growth.

  • Can work independently but know when to ask for help/guidance. 

  • Want the benefits of working in private practice (e.g., flexibility, autonomy, seeing the clients you want to see) without having to deal with the business management, i.e., you want to focus on seeing clients.

  • Are willing to put yourself out there and build connections in the community.

  • Are comfortable with a slow build up of clients.

  • Have strong alignment with practice’s core values, including anti-racism and affirming care.

Required qualifications:

  • Current licensure in Maryland (LCPC, LGPC, LCSW-C, LMFT, psychologist).

  • Have experience providing relationship/couples counseling and/or a strong commitment to training. 

  • Are comfortable and ideally experienced working with queer couples and couples practicing ethical-non monogamy/polyamory.
